"The world is hugged by the faithful arms of volunteers."
~ Terri Guillemets
Volunteers are vital to our mission. We are able to provide exceptional therapy services thanks to the dedicated individuals who share their time and talents.
Volunteer opportunities are available Monday through Friday to adults and teens age 14 and older.
All volunteers that assist during riding sessions start in the role of side walker for a minimum of two weeks. Volunteers who have horsemanship experience can complete our horse lead assessment to become horse leaders.
Horse Leaders lead horses during therapeutic horseback riding sessions for clients with disabilities. Duties include walking the horse during the therapy session, grooming the horse, putting on tack, taking off tack, cleaning the barn, putting the horse in the stall or pasture, and other duties as needed.
Side Walkers work with clients with disabilities and horses, walking beside the horse during riding sessions.
Exceptional Equestrians is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides equine-assisted therapies to individuals with special needs.
